A full-size washer and dryer make sandy-towel duty easy. Across the way, our memory board holds a growing collection of sun-soaked moments—a sweet reminder that the best souvenirs are the stories you bring home.

The GypSEA Hideaway

Out back, a covered open-air lounge brings together swings, a hammock, colorful seating and all the collected beach-bar character that makes this home unmistakably ours. Stay for the shade, linger for the string lights—and rinse off the day in the private outdoor shower before heading upstairs.

Many of the signs and little treasures here were added by guests we now call friends. We’d love for you to add something of your own to the backyard collection—one more piece of the GypSEA story.

Everything you need for an easy, salty little getaway.

How close is the beach?

The beach is about two blocks away—approximately a 3–4 minute walk.

Where can we launch kayaks or paddleboards?

The kayak and paddleboard launch is conveniently located at the end of the street.

Is Back to the GypSEA dog-friendly?

Yes! Well-behaved salty pups are welcome to join the family getaway.

What beach and outdoor gear is provided?

Our guest shed is stocked with umbrellas, beach chairs, fishing gear, giant outdoor games, sand toys and other beach-day extras.

Are linens and towels provided?

Bed linens and bath towels are not provided. We supply pillows, coverlets and blankets, and we’re happy to share information for a trusted local linen service.

How many guests can the home sleep?

The maximum occupancy is seven guests. The home has four beds plus a memory-foam rollaway bed.

Is there plenty of parking?

Yes. We have a long driveway, with additional covered parking available beneath the home’s pilings.

Does the home have an elevator?

We have a service elevator for luggage, groceries and beach gear only. For everyone’s safety, it is not for transporting people.

What are check-in and checkout times?

Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. Checkout is by 10:00 a.m.

How can we book directly?

Our happy place

From our family’s beach home to yours.

We’re Eric and Michelle—a true farm boy at heart and a beach girl through and through. We’ve been married for 28 years and raised three amazing kids along the way.

Surf City has always held a special place in our hearts. Long before we ever owned a home here, we brought our kids to the beach. We made family memories that will last forever, soaked up the salty air, and simply enjoyed being together. It always felt like our beach home—eventually, we just made it official!

Now that our kids are grown, we love being able to share a little piece of the place that has meant so much to our family. We’ve filled Back to the GypSEA with things we love, plenty of personality, and lots of laid-back beach charm.

We hope you’ll kick off your shoes, slow down, breathe in that salty air, and make some wonderful GypSEA and Surf City memories of your own.

GypSEA was our first boxer, and she was such a special girl. She’s so loved and deeply missed. She helped inspire the name Back to the GypSEA, and her playful spirit will always have a place in the heart of this home.
